  • Andrea Caceres

    Andrea is the Executive Director of The AWA Project. Acknowledging her Peruvian-Mexican background and a forthcoming Master's in International Development from IE University, Andrea is dedicated to empowering youth to lead impactful change in their communities.

  • Santiago Andrés

    Santiago is the Ambassadors’ Program Director for The AWA Project. He will start an MBA in Sports Management at the Universidad Europea in Madrid, Spain, and looks to integrate sports with the educational aspect of water.

  • Hannah Flores

    Born and raised in Toronto, Hannah is the Projects Assistant and podcast co-host for AWA. She is currently studying Quantitative Biology and Spanish at the University of Toronto, and is a spoken word artist/poet outside of school.

  • Emi Oyakawa Toyofuku

    Emi is the Finance Director for The AWA Project. Born and raised in Lima, she is currently living in Vancouver pursuing her BA with a double major in Economics and Psychology at UBC. She is interested in Sustainable Development and Behavioral Economics. In her free time you can always find her reading.

  • Roberta Fassina

    Originally from Brazil and currently residing in Toronto, Roberta holds a degree in Business, but her true passion lies in the realms of Communication and Marketing. Roberta serves as the Communications Director at The AWA Project. As an avid advocate for sustainability, Roberta channels her enthusiasm into making eco-friendly choices in her daily life. When not immersed in her professional pursuits, she finds joy in spending sunny days at the beach, indulging in baking, and exploring the world of thrifting.

  • Mel Medina

    Born in Mexico and based in Toronto Mel is a graduated Graphic Designer and a Marketing student. Thanks to this knowledge she’s able to help AWA as our Marketing Assistant. Mel likes to integrate the happiness and vibrance of Mexico into her designs.

  • Norah Adams

    Based in Nova Scotia, Canada, Norah serves as the Social Media Assistant for AWA. She has just graduated high school, looking at travelling and studying environmental science in the near future.

  • Helen Liebhaber

    Helen is the Business Development Director for The AWA Project. Born and raised in Germany, she is currently living in Madrid pursuing her Masters in International Development. Before that she was studying Business Management and Marketing in Bristol. She is interested in gender equality and the female economic empowerment in terms of poverty alleviation. Her favourite activity is to be at the beach with a good book.

  • Natalie Gahre

    With 6+ years of experience in the private sector, Natalie is supporting The AWA Project as Strategy Consultant. Growing up in Germany with the influence of the German and Chinese cultures, she is currently pursuing her graduate studies in International Development at IE University in Madrid.

  • Sarah Borbolla Garcés

    Sarah serves as the Public Affairs Director at the AWA Project, where, as a Mexican settler in Canada, she emphasizes truth and reconciliation in connection with water. She's also a prospective graduate student at the University of Ottawa's School of Political Studies. Pursuing a Master's of Arts in Public Administration, her studies delve into the interplay between direct community development and crime prevention.

  • Vermon Washington

    Vermon Washington is the Human Resource Director for The AWA Project. Born and raised in Liberia, he currently resides in Madrid, Spain, studying a Master in International Development at IE University, where he wants to understand how concrete public policy decisions drive the SDGs' implementation in developing countries. Vermon will use his extensive experience in recruitment and human relations to navigate AWA's human resources policies, recruiting, and maintaining human capital within the organization.
